I'm stoked, but I hate possession stuff, so I'm not looking forward to it as much as I am looking forward to it LMAODrew Grimm Van Esshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01612788931230137094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829872901342037686.post-55776591139917185402014-06-12T12:28:12.704-07:002014-06-12T12:28:12.704-07:00Nicely done Grimm, such a fine film. Thanks for the fine review.Eddie Hohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459536738255409840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8829872901342037686.post-21778288714699256792014-06-12T10:08:46.822-07:002014-06-12T10:08:46.822-07:00I'm not sure I believe stories on Blair being ...I'm not sure I believe stories on Blair being traumatised by the shoot, in fact she seems to say the contrary on all documentaries that she has spoken on about it. She did end up on drugs very early in her life, but that was more to do with the hollywood machine eating her up and spitting her out.

Anyways, you are right, the film is still a powerhouse. Can you imagine that it was banned over here for home release until the end of the 90's? Thankfully it was then given a cinema release, and it was there that I first saw it. Sadly most of the audience were too busy making fun of it for me to really enjoy it, but it was one of the first DVD's I got in 2001. I watch it every year now, like you, around Halloween. It's just such a seriously made film, by very talented people. Not many horror films can hold a candle to it.

I really like part III, I have to say. The ending is a bit OTT, but up to then it's a great little atmospheric film. The newer sequels aren't great, but Schraders version is much better than the Renny Harlin disaster. It's a pity Schrader's version was never completed properly, it might have been a much better film.JP Mulvanettihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381363705787780363noreply@blogger.com
